Chinese food now holds a popular place among the entire population of the world. You can find a Chinese restaurant in every major city and in many smaller areas of the world as well. When you are dining out at Chinese restaurants, try to avoid going to those large buffet place since many of them have a lot of greasy foods. The best way eat healthy is really to eat a well balanced meal. It’s important to eat a good portion of vegetables over meat and rice. You may prefer to stay away from eating several of those egg rolls and other deep fried dishes. These egg rolls and other fried foods initially stem from the roots of American Chinese type of restaurants. Here are some ideas that you should consider when dining out:

1. Finding a great restaurant. Go talk to your friends and family and ask them which restaurants that have experienced. Look in your local papers and internet site to find a recommend restaurant. You may need to stray away from your local town to find a good one.

2. Choose your right dishes. Don’t forget that you should be sharing your meals with people at your table. It is traditional to share your dishes as a group. Start out your meals with a soup for everyone. This will help your stomach from absorbing the fatty food throughout your meal. Try to stay away from foods that have a lot of fat – fried dumplings, fried wonton, and egg rolls if possible. For your vegetable dishes, you are able to choose a Bok Choy, Green beans, or vegetables.

3. Choose a tea flavor. This is the tea that you will with others in your party. There are many teas available and the some of the common tea are Jasmine, Oolong, and Black. If you’re not familiar with these tea flavors, you may ask the waiter and try a common and less bitter tea that suits your taste buds.

4. Avoid eating a lot of rice. The rice will fill you up quickly and there are many carbohydrates in rice. In general, try to eat more rice than the meat and seafood.

5. Be careful of other food allergies. You may want to avoid putting MSG (know as monosodium glutamate) into your foods. Some restaurants don’t allow you to this, but you should ask. It may offend the waiter if you ask – so ask politely.

6. Avoid other food ingredients. Some foods are high in sugar and starches (flour) which add to the number of carbohydrates in your food. Eat food with less salt which could include heavy amounts of soy sauce and other salt gravy.

7. Eat less dessert. Some of the desserts are high sugar and have fatty ingredients. It is good to try these desserts sparingly.

There are fish oils that are high in omega-3 fatty acids which help protect your body against various diseases. This especially helps prevent thick fatty deposits on the walls of arteries which can cause blood clots and lower your cholesterol. Fatty foods are one factor that can lead to heart disease and fishes are very low in fat as a food choice.

Seafood has also been linked to providing many other health benefits like lowering the signs of arthritis. Studies have shown that eating fish a couple of times per week can fight inflammation and help relieve stiffness. Another benefit of eating foods with omega-3 fatty acids and similar acids is that they are believed to provide great mental health benefits as well. By eating foods with omega-3 fatty acids, it is said that this can help slow the development of Alzheimer’s disease and even help those who suffer from depression.

Now there are many different choices when it comes to fish and you will want to make sure that you choose fish that will have low mercury levels. Typically the larger the fish, the higher the amount of mercury will be found in it. However, you can also check to see which fish are endangered or are being poached and choose not to eat those fish.

Choosing a seafood restaurant is one way that you can introduce healthy low fat food into your diet. In order to get all the great health benefits from the fish, you will need to make sure that your seafood restaurant doesn’t batter and deep fry the fish in oil. This is just canceling all the good things you want to give your body by eating seafood. There are so many great spices and seasonings to get all the flavors you want out of your fish without having to add butter or oil. Try a seafood restaurant next time and see what healthy options you can create.

There are so many different types of restaurant equipment available throughout the world that it will be in possible for me to write about them all. Therefore, I have chosen a few fascinating pieces of equipment to help you in your search and maybe make your job or that of your employees job a little easier along the way.

You should give serious consideration to investing in a reliable food processor. They save time and labor. The way in which your food is processed, how you chop, slice, mix, grate and blend will greatly affect the amount of time it takes to provide the ending result to your customer. By investing in a quality food processor you are investing in a piece of restaurant equipment that will provide safety, better time management and essentially better results.

The refrigerator is the most critical piece of restaurant equipment you can ever buy. Keeping cold foods cold is essential to food quality and the extreme importance of food safety. Invest in a refrigerator that will show you the temperature accurately on the outside of the equipment. Find a refrigerator that is tough and built to last, with proper usage.

Delivering cold and hot beverages is extremely important to the success of your restaurant. This piece of restaurant equipment should provide a quick and efficient way of dispensing the beverages. You will need a well-designed layout to deliver the best product to your customers. A soda tower has the ability to dispense six different beverages and has an ice dispensing point. The ice dispenser should hold around 100 to 150 pounds of ice.

Fried foods are as popular as ever. To keep pace with the demand, today’s frying equipment offers features that save time and money and help you prepare consistent, quality products. Commercial deep-fat fryers are complex pieces of equipment designed to turn out load after load of perfectly fried foods. Today’s frying equipment is made to be safe, energy efficient, and easily cleanable. Energy efficiency is easy for electric fryers since the heating elements are immersed in the frying medium, giving the highest possible efficiency from the electric source.

Gas fryer manufacturers made their products more energy efficient. Gas fryers heat the food either with a burner under the fry pot or by injecting the gas flame into tubes running through the fry pot. Recently, manufacturers have introduced infrared burners and various types of baffles in the tubes to distribute heat more evenly, extract more heat energy from the fuel, and reduce waste heat needing to be exhausted.

The rules to sticking to your diet while eating out are the same as when you prepare your own food. Fill up on fruits and vegetables and eat lean meats and fish in small portions. Stay away from all those rolls!

Whether you’re having lunch with the gang, or enjoying a romantic dinner for two, you can enjoy delicious-tasting foods that are low-in calories and good for you, with just a little forethought and planning. Here’s some tips that might help you stick to your diet while enjoying restaurant cuisine.

1. Think Ahead. Get a menu from the restaurant if you are not familiar with their dishes and select a healthy dish ahead of time. This can save you from ordering something fattening under the duress of hunger pangs at the restaurant.

2. Order first. Be the first one in your group to order and you won’t be tempted to change your mind and order some deliciously fattening dish that one of your companions has orderd.

3. Ask for smaller portions. Don’t be afraid to ask for a kids or seniors sized portion. Most restaurants will accommodate you — and often you’ll pay less as well!

4. Ask about the preparation of any dish you plan to order. You want to avoid anything that is cooked in butter and always ask if they have a heart healthy or fat free option.

5. Drink a large glass of water before the meal. This will help you digest easier, feel full faster and therefore eat less.

6. If everything on the menu is high in fat or calories, ask if the chef could prepare a plate of fresh fruit and vegetables. Many restaurants offer a vegetarian selection, so if you don’t see it on the menu, ask.

7. When ordering meat or fish, ask that it be grilled or broiled, and prepared without oil or butter. (When you eat it, use lemon or herbs and spices to give it flavor rather than heavy sauces).

8. Order an appetizer and a salad as your meal. Or a soup and salad. For dessert, choose fresh fruit.

9. When choosing soup, remember that cream-based soups have many more calories than broth-based ones.

10. If you’re having a full meal, split the appetizer and desert with your companion.

11. If you decide to order pasta, tomato sauce has fewer calories than cream-based sauces, just like soup.

12. Choose breadsticks over bread, or if you eat bread, don’t add butter. Stay away from muffins and croissants, and choose whole grain over white.

13. Choose steamed vegetables instead of baked potatoes or other starches. Again, use lemon and herbs and spices rather than butter to flavor them with.

14. Whenever possible, eat like the Europeans do, and have your biggest meal at lunchtime. Not only will you save money, but you’ll cut down on calories at the same time!

15. Take the time to enjoy your meal. Savor the flavors and textures of your food, and enjoy the company you’re with. When you eat slowly, you give your body’s internal clock the time it needs to know when you’ve had enough. When you’re full, stop eating. Ask your server to remove your plate so you’re not tempted to keep eating while you wait for your companion to finish.

16. Ask for salsa on your baked potatoes, rather than sour cream and butter. Not only is salsa much lower in calories, but it adds a “spicy” flavor to potatoes.

17. Order salad dressings and sauces “on the side.” This gives you more control of how much to use. Another tip for salad dressing — rather than pouring the salad dressing on your salad, dip your fork into the dressing first, and then into the salad. You’ll get the same amount of flavor, without all the added calories!

18. Choose brown rice over white rice (or french fries), whole grain breads and rolls over white. Not only are they lower in calories, but they are better for you.

19. Stay away from “all you can eat” buffets and salad bars. It’s too easy to lose track of the amount of food you’re eating, even when it’s salads. If that’s your only choice, then stay away from the pasta, marinated salads, cheeses and fruit salads with whipped cream. Stick to soups, raw vegetables and fresh fruits.

20. Have your soup first. It will help to fill you up, and most soups have fewer calories.

21. If you’re craving something sweet, and don’t want fresh fruit, choose sorbet. If you absolutely HAVE to have the chocolate sauce, use the same trick as you did with the salad dressing — dip your fork into it first, then your dessert.

22. Split your dessert with your companion. You’ll still feel like you got to be indulgent, and you’ll only have to exercise half as long to burn off the extra calories!

23. When ordering sandwiches, order them with mustard only, rather than mayonnaise. Not only does mustard have almost no calories, but you won’t miss the mayo!

24. If the portion you were served is large, only eat half of it. Take the other half home. Not only will you get two meals for the price of one, but you’ll cut the calories in half as well!

25. Go for a walk after eating. Stroll along the beach, walk through a park, visit a zoo. You’ll burn calories and get your exercise at the same time!

Most fast food restaurants come with a calorie chart of how many calories each of their products has. A parent can check this chart and make sure the calories are well divided between their children, or that their children are not overeating. A large burger, large fries, and large soda already meets the daily calorie requirement of an teenage boy, and that’s just one meal! As a result, that teen will end up overeating.

A young child all the way up to a teen will need about six servings of grains a day, two of those servings are fulfilled by the burger bun. They’ll need five to six ounces of protein, all of which is covered in one of those large burger patties. What is missing in the fast food meal is the vegetable and food group. The lettuce and tomato that comes with the burger is not enough! Top it off with deep fried French fries and a large soda, and you have a lot of unneeded non-nutritious calories that will go unused.

If you want to take your children to a burger place, check on the calorie count of each of the items. Encourage them to drink water instead of soda, and always get the smallest serving of fries. If you can, visit healthier places, places that make the food only when you ask for it. In-N-Out Burger is a really good example of a healthier option for these kinds of restaurants.

If you’re at a pizza parlor, choose thin crusts pizza. These are usually healthier and they have less refined grains. Try also going for vegetarian pizzas. Kids usually just like the cheese, so veggie pizzas would be a better choice than the meat and pepperoni counterparts. Also keep the calorie count in mind, and you’re home free! Just remember that fast food cannot be eaten everyday or as often as twice a week. Your kids need whole healthy nutritious foods to develop well.

Serve your kids healthier meals if you’ve had fast food that day. Say you know you’ll be eating out for lunch, plan your breakfasts and dinner to make sure the other food groups like fruit, vegetables, and dairy are represented too. At the end of the day healthy eating is about having a balanced diet, if you can fit fast food into a balanced diet from time to time, your kids should be fine!
